“We think that when it comes to mental health, there’s something we can change,’ Hurst says. “But when it’s someone with an illness like Alzheimer’s, we recognize the brain as an organ and as an organ that’s under attack. So, they’re the same things. We just have different emotional responses and attitudes towards them.”

Ryan Ward got back from California a couple of weeks ago. It wasn’t a pleasure trip to Disneyland or Hollywood. He was crunching numbers, digging through spreadsheets, consulting financial records. His trip to the West Coast came as a result of an internship Ward landed through the Joseph F. Decosimo Success Center in the UTC College of Business.
