Time to break out your blue and gold for ‘I Love UTC’ Week from Monday, February 24 through Saturday, March 1! Organized by several campus organizations, the week features a pep rally, door decorating contest, and more school-spirited activities.
Second Annual UTC Zumbathon raises money for the American Heart Association
UTC students teamed up with the Chattanooga community for three hours of non-stop dancing at the second annual Zumbathon. The fun event raised more than a $1,000 for the local chapter of the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” initiative.
UTC student interns with Volkswagen in Germany
UTC’s first-ever intern for Volkswagen in Germany is preparing to leave for Wolfsberg. The University is hopeful Adrianna Eder, a Brock Scholar, is the first of many UTC students who will participate in the UTC-Osfalia University of Applied Sciences bilateral exchange relationship.

UTC Chancellor Steven R. Angle will deliver “Achieving Excellence—Charting the path to the future” to the community on Wednesday, March 5 at 8 a.m. at the Hunter Museum of American Art.
Black male student initiative boosts retention and graduation rates
A highly structured program focused on more than success in the classroom is increasing the number of black male graduates at UTC.
Student Support Services (SSS) launched the University’s first-ever black male initiative, Black Males on Campus (BMOCS) in fall 2010 to promote the retention of black male students so that they can succeed and graduate from UTC. Not only does this program focus on success in the classroom, it also addresses social, cultural, emotional, personal and financial issues.

UTC Nursing students are raising money for a trip to Guatemala
In many parts of the world people don’t have the same readily available access to healthcare that most people in the United States have. UTC School of Nursing (SON) students are raising the money to take a trip to one such place, Guatemala City, to try to change that.
