Legends and Leaders honored

The UTC Office of Alumni Affairs honors the 2009 Distinguished Alumnus, The Honorable Mercer Reynolds III at the annual Legends & Leaders Dinner at the Chattanooga Golf & Country Club. Dr. Clifton Cleaveland and his wife, Ruzha, are also honorees as this year’s Outstanding Service Award recipients.

Racing Mocs ranked 16 of 100 teams at international Baja event

UTC’s Racing Mocs beat Georgia Tech, UT Knoxville and the University of Alabama by placing 16th of 100 teams at the 2009 Baja Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Alabama at Auburn University April 16-19.  This year’s entry was an entirely new vehicle built and designed “from the ground up” according to Ben Klingler, Project Manager.

Master Chorale seeks singers for summer 2009

Senior electrical engineering project benefits Jones Observatory

UTC Jones Observatory has been opening its dome for star gazers since 1936.  It was in desperate need of rehab, as the doors to the dome were operated manually.  Budget constraints have delayed upgrades at the observatory, but this semester Dr. Michel E. Holder’s electrical engineering students stepped in with their senior class project.

UTC Bass Anglers win big at SCBFS Championship Tournament

In a field of 96 different anglers from 21 different schools, UTC Bass Anglers earned a fourth place finish at the recent Southern Collegiate Bass Fishing Series (SCBFS) Championship Tournament, beating Virginia Tech, University of Georgia, Alabama, Clemson and UT-Knoxville.
