Students and faculty from the Department of Chemistry participated in the SouthEastern Regional Meeting of the American Chemical Society (SERMACS) held recently in Nashville. Dr. Edwin P. Foster Receives ASCE Award
Dr. Edwin P. Foster, Professor of Civil Engineering at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, received the Peter G. Hoadley Award for Outstanding Engineering Educator at the annual meeting of the Tennessee Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

WUTC-FM, 88.1, a service of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, significantly grew its audience in fall 2008 compared to the number of those who listened in fall 2007.

A celebration for students, faculty, staff and community partners was held to officially open the UTC Multicultural Center and the UTC Women’s Center. Tara Mathis, Associate Dean of Student Development heads the Multicultural Center and Sara Peters is the director of the UTC Women’s Center.

French nuclear program presentation offered to ANS Chattanooga Section
A French nuclear expert who addressed the American Nuclear Society (ANS) Chattanooga Section on the UTC campus called for an appeal to President Obama, asking him to “launch a new energy deal, like the new deal in the ’30s. There is a lot of need here in the U.S. for energy resources.”
