UTC Theatre Co. presents “Bright Star” Feb. 25-March 1
Steve Martin and Edie Brickell’s “Bright Star,” a heartfelt story of love, loss and redemption set against the bluegrass-rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and 1940s, will take the stage at the UTC Fine Arts Center’s Dorothy Hackett Ward Theatre. Performed by the UTC Theatre Co., “Bright Star” runs at 7:30 p.m. from Feb. 25-March 1—with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, March 1.
UTC hosts “State of Our Youth” event for Hamilton County students
More than 400 middle school and high school students from Hamilton County visited the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on Thursday, Feb. 6, for “State of Our Youth.” The event was a collaborative effort between the UTC Division of Access and Engagement, UTC Admissions, the City of Chattanooga and Hamilton County Schools.

Explore, innovate, engineer: UTC to host E-Week Open House on Feb. 22
Held as part of National Engineers Week, the E-Week Open House—taking place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 22 in the UTC Engineering and Computer Science Building—is designed to introduce visitors of all ages to the exciting fields of engineering and computer science. Attendees will experience hands-on demonstrations and interactive projects while meeting local industry leaders and UTC students, faculty and staff.
Kicking off Black History Month 2025 at UTC
Black History Month at UTC began with an energetic start. On Monday, Feb. 3, students, faculty and staff gathered in Lupton Hall for the kick-off festivities. The event featured performances by the UTC Littleton H. Mason Singers and the Ladies of Gold dance team, followed by an open dance session where attendees joined in the celebration.

On Friday, Jan. 31, in the University Center Tennessee Room, Dr. Michael Williams and Elijah Cameron took the stage to answer questions and reflect on Dr. King’s influence on the Chattanooga community. The Office of Multicultural Affairs and Mocs Dining sponsored the brunch.

Window to the world: Gage Keeble cleaning up in school and business
Gage Keeble’s journey through college isn’t your typical path of lectures, exams and weekend downtime. The UTC junior is double majoring in marketing: professional sales and finance while juggling roles as a chief analyst for the SMILE Fund, a member of the initial cohort of Phillips Scholars in Free Enterprise, and owning his own business.
