The Graduate School commencement took place Friday, Dec. 12, recognizing students who earned advanced degrees across UTC’s academic programs.
Crossing the finish line: UTC to celebrate fall 2025 commencement
On Dec. 12-13, UTC will celebrate fall commencement at McKenzie Arena, honoring the accomplishments of approximately 670 undergraduates and 160 graduate students earning their degrees. Many of the 198 undergraduate and 95 graduate students who completed their degrees in August are also expected to return to campus to join in the celebration.
Jermaine Freeman named executive director of economic and workforce development
Jermaine Freeman has been appointed executive director of economic and workforce development, a new leadership position created to strengthen UTC’s role in regional talent development and economic progress.
UTC honors Moc’s Golden Feather recipients Christopher Brown and Andre Yates
UTC has selected Christopher Brown from the School of Education and Andre Yates from Housing and Residence Life as the Moc’s Golden Feather Award recipients for September 2025. The Moc’s Golden Feather Award, launched earlier this year by the Office of Human Resources, recognizes staff members who provide outstanding service and contributions to make UTC a great place to work and learn.
UTC marks a new chapter as Chancellor Lori Mann Bruce is formally invested
On Friday, Nov. 21, Chancellor Lori Bruce was formally installed as the 19th leader in the University’s 139-year history. The event brought together students, faculty, staff, alumni, state and community leaders, and members of the UT System, each playing a part in a day that will be remembered at UTC for years to come.
College Quest introduces future students to UTC’s health, engineering and technology programs
On Friday, Nov. 14, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga held an event for incoming college students interested in health care, engineering, computer science and technology known as College Quest.
Power C Tour 2025 comes to a close in Chattanooga
The blue-and-gold energy at UTC was palpable on Wednesday, Nov. 12, as the Power C Tour returned to Chattanooga. The statewide recruiting tour made stops across Tennessee this fall, but the final event at UTC had a familiar, hometown feel.
Chancellor’s Veterans Day Luncheon honors UTC military community
For 1st Lt. Terry Ellis, being a veteran isn’t about a single moment. It’s about a promise made. When Ellis, an assistant professor of practice at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, was announced as the keynote speaker for the annual Chancellor’s Veterans Day Luncheon on Tuesday, Nov. 11, he described it as “humbling.”

Terrell Owens returns home to inspire, engage and fill Finley Stadium
When Pro Football Hall of Famer and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga alumnus Terrell Owens walks across campus, he still feels at home. The former Mocs wide receiver, who first made his mark on Chamberlain Field in the 1990s, returned to Chattanooga for UTC’s 2025 Homecoming Week from Oct. 27 to Nov. 1.
