New state grant creates a UTC ROAD MAP for seniors in rural Tennessee counties
Older adults living in rural Tennessee counties are at a higher risk for developing chronic diseases, cognitive disorders and poor health outcomes due to a lack of access to health care, continuity of treatment and resources. A grant awarded to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga School of Nursing aims to mitigate those risks by delivering health care and social services professionals to rural communities.

A ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, April 27, officially launched University High, a new two-year program designed to help Hamilton County High School students get a head start on a college degree. University High will be headquartered on the UTC campus.
Beating hearts: Lightfoot, Howard Baptiste spread the word about heart health
With February being American Heart Month, Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Engagement Stacy Lightfoot and Vice Provost for Academic Outreach Shewanee Howard-Baptiste have been spreading the word on behalf of the American Hearth Association to increase awareness of heart and cardiovascular disease and how to prevent it.
UTC, Hamilton County Schools collaborate to create University High
A college pipeline for high school students who might not have considered a four-year university education is the goal of a new partnership between Hamilton County Schools and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Debuting in fall 2023, University High is a HCS initiative headquartered on the UTC campus serving students and their families at no cost to them.

The Dr. Jane Harbaugh Research Experience Award was established in 2021 to commemorate the career of Harbaugh, whose 43-year career made her one of the longest-serving faculty members and administrators at UTC.
