Understanding pregnancy discrimination
Peggy Young was working part-time as a delivery driver for United Parcel Service in 2006 when she became pregnant. Though her job description required that she be able to lift 70 lbs, she could lift no more than 20 lbs during her pregnancy. She asked UPS for accommodations, either temporary desk work or assistance lifting heavy packages. UPS argued that Young didn’t meet their criteria for light duty and required her to take unpaid leave. In 2008, she filed a pregnancy discrimination lawsuit, which was heard by the Supreme Court in 2014.
UTC Theatre presents “Evita”
UTC Theatre brings Evita to life April 19-23. UTC Theatre Company presents acclaimed Evita in the Dorothy Hackett Ward Theatre, Fine Arts Center. The show will run April 19-23 at 7:30 P.M. with an additional 2 P.M. matinee on April 23.

Library to open Dennis Haskins Exhibit
The Library invites Campus and community members to an exhibit opening with UTC Chattanooga alumnus Dennis Haskins. The opening will feature remarks and a question and answer session with Haskins on Monday, April 4, at 4:30 P.M. in the Southern Writers Room, 4th floor, Library.
