Students at Gilbert Elementary School in LaFayette, Ga., have a new way to have fun outside while building their problem-solving skills. This past spring, UTC students in the Outdoor Leadership Skills class, led by Dr. Drew Bailey, constructed a ropes course in a wooded area next to the school.

Risk takers & trailblazers: UTC graduates first class in Occupational Therapy
The Lucky 13 have been a class of risk takers, guinea pigs, leaders, and trailblazers, and on May 5, they became the first group to earn a Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD) at UTC.

Nursing the Nurses: Study hopes to reduce risk of injuries to nurses

Preventing injuries of all kinds is the goal of a study Dr. Chris Cunningham has started through the Department of Psychology and in collaboration with the safetyCures group of the Chattanooga Regional Health Innovation Coalition.
UTC one of first universities in Healthier Tennessee Communities effort
UTC is one of the first colleges in the state accepted into the Healthier Tennessee Communities effort. The goal of the program is to improve the overall health of Tennesseans by encouraging participants to be physically active for at least 30 minutes each week, eat a healthy diet and stop tobacco use.
