For the first time, the Chattanooga Police Department celebrated its academy graduation on the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga campus. The UTC Department of Criminal Justice hosted the Sept. 4 ceremony in the Fine Arts Center’s Roland Hayes Concert Hall, where 14 graduates—including one fire investigator—received recognition for completing 22 weeks of training.

Early bird registration opens for “Chattanooga Connect 2025”
Chattanooga Connect 2025, hosted by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Research Institute (UTCRI), will take place Oct. 6-8 at the Chattanooga Convention Center. Following its successful debut last year, Chattanooga Connect will again convene industry leaders, policymakers, and researchers to explore the future of urban transportation and cutting-edge advancements in quantum computing, digital infrastructure, AI, connected and automated vehicles (CAV), and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technologies.
UTC’s Nancy Mullins honored with UTFI President’s Award
Nancy Mullins, assistant director of events in the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Division of Advancement, has been named a recipient of the prestigious 2025 University of Tennessee Foundation (UTFI) President’s Award. The annual award recognizes advancement professionals across the UT System who demonstrate exceptional dedication, creativity and leadership in support of fundraising and alumni engagement.
