UTC grad brings reading home for kids in need
Kelsey Butler, a recent UTC graduate, has created HomeBound, a non-profit focused on sending books home with kids who wouldn’t otherwise have access.

Master Gunnery Sgt. Jane Cross, a UTC graduate, will take part in the 58th Inauguration of the President of the United States on Jan. 20, 2017, as a member of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band.

Music’s first African American student looks back at a lifetime of musical achievement
Johnny Malone ‘74, professional musician and songwriter, was seventeen when he started his educational career at the University of Chattanooga as the first African American student in the Music Department.
Professors and students featured in poetry collection, The Heart’s Many Doors
UTNAA Distinguished Professor of English Dr. Richard Jackson, with UTC alumni and current students, as well as distinguished American poets, recently teamed up to produce The Heart’s Many Doors. The collaborative effort features poems by American poets responding to prints by Slovene artist Metka Krasovec.
