UTC professor receives grant to study state’s public health information-delivery system
Dr. Amir Alakaam, associate professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance at UTC and director of its Master of Public Health program, recently received a $332,500 grant from the Tennessee Department of Public Health.
Student voices: Radio station rebirth brings Perch back to UTC

If at first you succeed: UTC chemistry professor lands research grant on initial attempt
Assistant Professor of Chemistry Ben Stein was awarded a $322,375 grant from the NIH for the project entitled, “Characterization of non-canonical regulatory pathways in the Caulobacter NtrYX signaling system.” The NIH Research Enhancement Award, known as an R15, is only the second received by a UTC faculty member in recent years.
New Percussion Ensemble director ready to ‘Beat Hunger’
Performed by the Percussion Ensemble, “Beat Hunger” is a concert to raise money for Chattanooga’s Community Kitchen, which helps feed and clothe the homeless as well as offering shelter and counseling.
