University now offers M.S. degree in Mathematics
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga received approval from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission to offer the Master of Science Degree in Mathematics with concentrations in four areas: Applied Mathematics, Applied Statistics, Algebra and Discrete Mathematics, and Education. This degree program is available now.
Kodaly Institute at UTC
Music instructors throughout the US and Canada spent part of their summer vacation at the University’s Kodaly Institute, working to improve the way they teach as well as earning a certification that could advance their careers.

International summer abroad trip explores accessibility
A two-week summer abroad trip to the South Pacific took a group of 33 students and staff to Fiji, New Zealand and Australia, countries known worldwide for their accessibility to those with disabilities, according to Bryon Kluesner, M.S., Ph.D., Adaptive Technology Coordinator, Office for Students with Disabilities.
Ingram to address summer graduates
Dr. Debbie Ingram, UC Foundation Professor of Physical Therapy and the Director of Clinical Education, will deliver the summer commencement address to approximately 375 graduates on Sunday, August 9 at 2 p.m. in the McKenzie Arena.
Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee enjoy campus visit
Fifty rising 10th through 12th grade students in the Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee enjoyed a summertime visit to campus, part of a tour also including Maryville College, UT Knoxville, and Chattanooga State.
Classes Begin August 17
Fall classes begin Monday, August 17. The last day to register in day or evening classes, to add a subject, or to change section for fall semester is Friday, August 21.
MOCS Camp 2009
Since Fall 2007, MOCS Camp has helped incoming freshman get adjusted to college life. “This is our third successful year of MOCS Camp,” said Miles Ledford, camp coordinator.
