Dr. Bill Stacy, chancellor of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from 1997 to 2004, passed away in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on Jan. 4 , 2024.
Music to their ears: Funding raised for Marching Mocs members to travel to London for New Year’s Day Parade
The Division of Advancement helped raise $120,000 for the Marching Mocs’ New Year’s Day Parade trip, making it possible for the students—musicians, color guard, drum majors and majorettes—as well as some faculty members and administrative staff to spend a week in London.
UTC School of Nursing celebrates $8 million gift to name new building
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga School of Nursing’s long-held dream of a new building has received the funding needed to become a reality. The Dorothy and Jim Kennedy Health Sciences Building will be the new home of the UTC School of Nursing thanks to an $8-million gift from the Kennedy Foundation, Inc.—the largest gift in School of Nursing history. The official announcement took place at an Oct. 23 on-campus event.
UTC raises more than $1.7 million for Fourth Annual Day of Giving
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga raised $1,734,947.42 from 2,131 donors during its fourth annual Mocs Give Day on Oct. 3. The day’s original fundraising goals to raise $1,000,000 from 1,500 donors were exceeded by nearly 73% and 42%, respectively.

UTC raises more than $14 million during 2023 fiscal year from 6,100 donors
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga raised $14,113,826 from 6,100 donors during the fiscal year 2023, exceeding the University’s fundraising goal by more than $3 million. This fundraising total represents a 38% increase from the previous fiscal year and a 115% increase from two years prior in dollars raised to support students, faculty and staff.
Students and donors come together for ‘one of the most meaningful events we have every year’
The 2023 Scholarship Luncheon, hosted by the Division of Advancement, brought nearly 200 people to the University Center Tennessee Room. The event provided an opportunity for students to thank their benefactors and for donors to get to know the students who benefited from their generosity.
