Honors Students study environmental impact of hurricanes in the Bahamas
This semester, twelve Honors College students spent their spring break in the Bahamas snorkeling, hiking, and studying Tropical Island Ecology and Geology as part of a general education science course.

Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce’s Downtown Council hosted a UTC mock presidential debate. Communications Department Fellow in Residence and former CNN White House Correspondent Dan Lothian provided critiques and insights to the students turned presidential hopefuls after their public performance.
Student athletes set academic school record

UTC student crowned Miss Chattanooga
UTC junior Chandler Lawson was recently selected Miss Chattanooga 2011. Lawson, a political science major who works at law firm Chambliss, Bahner and Stophel, won the interview award. Student to present research at international scientific meeting
UTC student Carolyn Hoagland, selected as a Volkswagen Distinguished Scholar to work at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, will present her research at the 2010 Annual Meeting and International Research Conference of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society. This event will be held November 11-14 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
