ThinkAchieve course offers experiential learning in San Salvador, Bahamas
Leah Keith-Houle’s Red Bank High School students are learning to map with a purpose. Unlike most mappers who are white males between 30-45 years old, Keith-Houle’s students are often young black women and men who are 16 years old. They tested their skills when they formed a Humanitarian Outreach Team (HOT) for OpenStreetMap (OSM). With this open source program, they’ve mapped Padang, Indonesia, for tsunami preparedness and Washington, Illinois, for tornado first responders.

Local high school students visit UTC TV Studio
Lights, camera, action! Local high school students got a chance to film their own mock talk show at the UTC TV Studio. The students are on campus as part of The University’s Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) initiative.
UTC Power ‘C’ travels the world this summer
Since the spring semester ended in April, UTC students have spread out across the globe for summer vacation. Coast to coast, from Maine to San Francisco, and overseas to South Africa, Croatia, and Germany among others, Mocs in gold and blue can be seen all over the world during the break.
High school students enjoy 2014 Summer Business Experience
A group of high school seniors spent six days immersed in the 2014 Summer Business Experience at UTC, where they interacted with College of Business professors and successful business professionals in workshops, field trips, and seminars.
UTC represented at Riverbend Festival
Lots of friendly folks who attended Riverbend 2014 played a game of Corn Hole and walked away with goodies after visiting the UTC table. Lower temperatures and low humidity made the festival an enjoyable time to visit with alumni and friends of the University.
College of Business hosts professors from Moi University
After a 22-hour flight from Kenya to the United States, Dr. David Kosgei, Dr. Japheth Kogei , Dr. Isaac Kirop and Lecturer Diane Korir were exhausted, but excited for their first visit to Chattanooga. The professors visited UTC as part of a partnership between Moi University and the UTC College of Business.
